This semester, we are going to practice the topic "Educational Resources." We'll be practicing getting information and writing about educational plans and options.
Twice a year, Continuing Education ESL students have the opportunity to demonstrate specific language skills focusing on particular topics. These are everyday, important topics, which touch upon the lives of just about every member of the community. They also are the topics which the federal government uses to assess progress of state ESL programs which receive its funding. When students demonstrate skills on these topics, the federal government provides more funding to schools to pay for technology, books, and other items which are necessary to keep the school operating. When you participate in EL Civics successfully, you learn valuable English language skills and help to fund your English language education! So be sure to come to class for EL Civics, and prepare for the assessment, so that you demonstrate everything you know! |
